Apple 'Far Out' event 2022: The iOS 16 will be supported on iPhones including iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X series, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone SE 2022 and the upcoming iPhone 14 series.

The iPhone 14 series will come with the stable version of iOS 16 out-of-the-box.

Apple 'Far Out' event 2022: After announcing the latest iOS 16 update for iPhones at Worldwide Developer Conference in June this year, Apple is likely to officially release the iOS 16 update at its Far Out event today in the US. The iOS 16's major new features include a customizable Lock Screen with widgets, the ability to temporarily edit or unsend an iMessage, iCloud Shared Photo Library for sharing photos with family and friends, a revamped Home app, and more.

With iOS 16, the Lock Screen gets more personal, beautiful, and helpful. With a new multilayered effect, the subjects of photos are artfully set in front of the time on the Lock Screen, creating a sense of depth. Users can also change the look of the date and time with expressive type styles and colour choices.

The Lock Screen features widgets that take inspiration from Apple Watch complications, making it easy to get information at a glance, such as upcoming calendar events, the weather, battery levels, alarms, time zones, Activity ring progress, and more. Live Activity is a new feature that helps users stay on top of things that are happening in real-time, such as a sports game, workout, ride-share, or food delivery order, right from the Lock Screen.

Users can edit or recall recently sent messages, recover recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread so they can come back to them later. In addition, SharePlay is coming to Messages, making it possible to enjoy synced content like movies or songs and shared playback controls all while chatting in Messages.

At Apple event, the company is launching four new iPhones - iPhone 14‌, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max, Apple Watch Series 8 and other products.
