Vivo V27 5G first impression: Design, display and camera features
Vivo V27 5G first impression: Vivo recently launched V 27 series in India. The series has two smartphones - Vivo V27 5G and Vivo V27 Pro 5G. As the name suggests, Vivo V27 is the younger sibling of the series launched by the brand and it went on sale on March 22. The Vivo V27 has two variants - 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. They are priced at Rs 32,999 and 36,999 respectively. The smartphone is available in two colour options - Magic Blue and Noble Black. The company has sent us an 8GB + 128GB Magic Blue variant as a review unit. While we will do a full review soon, here's our first impression of the latest premium mid-range V27 series phone.
Vivo V27 5G first impression: Desing
Have been using this device for a couple of days and the first thing that I liked about the device is how lightweight and easy it is to handle. The smartphone has curved edges both on the front and the back which makes it look super thin from sideways. In terms of number, it is just 7.36 mm thick and weighs 180 grams. According to the company, this is the slimmest V series phone ever. However, the design is ergonomic and feels much lighter in the hand. The frame of the device is made of plastic along with the glass back panel has a matte finish which makes it resistant to fingerprints and smudges.

The colour changing back is another factor that will attract eyeballs. While it has no practical use, the colour-changing Fluorite AG Glass technology turns the delicate light blue colour of the device to a more pronounced and elegant dark blue when exposed to direct sunlight and that looks more vibrant.
The one thing that we would like to highlight is the camera module design, which is made of brushed metal. It looks large but the camera design stands out with its minimalistic look. The module also contains a ring dual-LED flash and AURA LIGHT OIS Portrait System written below the third camera sensor.
The power button and volume rockers are on the left side of the device. While on the top you will just get a microphone with PROFESSIONAL PORTRAIT written alongside, you get a dotted speaker grille, dual-SIM slot, the primary microphone and the USB-C charging port at the bottom.
Vivo V27 5G first impression: Camera
The Vivo V27 has a 50MP Sony IMX766V custom primary rear sensor which is accompanied by an 8MP wide-angle and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, the Vivo V27 has a 50MP advanced eye autofocus camera. We have clicked some images from the rear camera and they looked decent. However, we are yet to test the front camera. Also, we need to find out how both the rear and front cameras perform in lowlight conditions.
Vivo V27 5G first impression: Battery and charging
During the initial usage, we found that the 4600mAh battery is giving sufficient backup and the 66W FlashCharge is fast enough to charge the battery from zero to 50 per cent in less than 20 minutes.
Vivo V27 5G first impression: Display
The Vivo V27 has a 6.78-inch 3D Curved AMOLED display and offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz. It also has a peak brightness of up to 1300 nits which is sufficient to let you read anything under direct sunlight. There is Schott Xensation protection for the display.
