Amazon announces Echo Input Portable Smart Speaker priced at Rs 4,999

Amazon has announced new Echo Input Portable Smart Speaker in India. Designed to be carried, the speaker has been priced at Rs 4,999 and is available for pre-order starting today from Amazon India.

Amazon has announced new Echo Input Portable Smart Speaker in India. Designed to be carried, the speaker has been priced at Rs 4,999 and is available for pre-order starting today from Amazon India. The shipping of the same will start from December 18. Customers can also try Echo Input Portable at Amazon Devices kiosks located in select shopping malls across the country.

The new speaker allows customers to unplug the device from power outlet without losing access to Alexa. This also allows users to take the speaker anywhere around the home and enjoy a portable Alexa experience. The device comes with a bigger 4,800 mAh rechargeable battery which claims to give a battery life of up to 10 hours.

“Customers in India love Alexa, and told us that they want to carry their Echo device from room to room so that they can have an uninterrupted hands-free Alexa experience,” said Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices India. “We’re excited to offer this new Alexa experience in India, and we cannot wait to see how our Indian customers enjoy the flexibility of a portable Alexa in their homes.”

With Echo Input Portable, customers can stream music from Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Gaana or Hungama Musi. They can also connect Echo Input Portable to new or existing Multi-Room Music group for synchronised streaming across rooms or your entire home. And, if customers have multiple Echo devices within hearing distance, Amazon’s Echo Spatial Perception (ESP) technology intelligently calculates the clarity of their voice and determines which Echo is closest and then responds to the request.

It also allows users to control compatible smart home devices such as lights, plugs, and fans from Philips, Wipro, Syska, TP-Link and more.
