Apple WWDC 2023: Tech giant to unveil watchOS 10 for Apple Watch

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 has generated tremendous buzz among die-hard fans of the company and tech enthusiasts. The Cupertino-based tech giant is set to unveil its much-hyped Reality Pro mixed reality headset in addition to new Macs and iOS 17 for iPhone. However, the dark horse of the highly anticipated event might be the new operating system for the Apple Watch.
It is being said that the Apple Watch will get a significant update to its user interface. One Mashable report suggests that it might be the biggest software update since the original Apple Watch was launched.
The tech giant’s watchOS 10 for the Apple Watch will deliver substantial software improvements, reported Bloomberg’s tech journalist Mark Gurman. The watchOS 10 will be specifically focussed on the introduction of new widgets.

These enhancements will enable the Apple Watch to offer a wide range of information to the users such as activity tracking and weather. Users will be able to access useful information through simple scrolling instead of launching individual apps.
Some reports even suggest that Apple might change the function of the Digital Crown.
Currently, the button launches the home stream, but it might launch widgets, instead, in watchOS 10. Apple’s new widgets system will combine Glances and the widgets you see on your iPad and iPhone. Glances was a widget system on watchOS many years ago.
Users can expect the availability of the initial beta versions of watchOS 10 starting from June 5. However, the final version of watchOS 10 will only be launched in September, reported Mint.
Apple is not expected to carry out significant hardware changes to its watch. Instead, the focus will be on watchOS 10 offering sensible advancements for the device.
It is worth noting that the company had recently rolled out an update for the Apple Watch, watchOS 9.5.1. This update, sized at 91.8MB, provided bug fixes and general enhancements for the Apple Watch. But this update did not include any security updates.
Fans are also looking forward to Apple’s long-rumoured VR/AR headset. This futuristic headset will boast of providing superior virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences.
