Foldable Phones 2019: What Samsung Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X, Motorola Razr, LG Bendi, Xiaomi Mix Flex promise
Foldable phones are making a breakthrough in the year 2019, throwing a curveball at ancient smartphone technology.
Foldable Phones 2019: Smartphone companies are running an unstoppable race of providing the best technology with state of the art features to their consumers. Advancement in technology and innovation has resulted in visually impressive foldable phones. The transition of conventional smartphones into foldable phones is revolutionary and apparently has an edge over other smartphones. Foldable phones are making a breakthrough this year, throwing a curveball at ancient smartphone technology.
Entering into the arena of foldable phones race are following contenders:
1. Samsung Galaxy Fold
One of the mega smartphone manufacturing company, Samsung, as rumors have it, will soon release its first foldable smartphone. The phone has a cover display of 4.5 inches and the phone opens like a paperback book, to give a 7.3 inches display, almost twice the size of the previous screen, to give the user a bigger screen for playing games and watching movies. The dual screens also support three applications working side by side. The Samsung phone will have an OS called One UI, which will enable the foldable body of the phone to support Android applications.

The Galaxy Fold has a 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen, a 16Mp-12MP-12MP camera combination rear-triple camera and a 10MP-8MP front dual camera over its second, bigger display.
Samsung has revealed that the smartphone will support both 4G and 5G data networks. The Fold will feature a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processor and 12GB of RAM. There’s 512GB of built-in storage, and there's no MicroSD slot to add extra storage.
The Fold has a total battery capacity of 4,380mAh, via two batteries which are split on either side of the hinge.
And the cherry on the cake is that Galaxy Fold is capable of charging itself via wireless power share, while connected to a regular charger.
It will hit the markets in April 2019.
2.Huawei Mate X
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer came up with its version of the foldable phone, Huawei Mate X. The phone boasts of three screens - a 6.6-inch front screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 2,480 x 1148 pixel resolution, a 6.38-inch rear screen with a 25:9 aspect ratio and 2,480 x 892 pixel resolution, and – when fully unfolded – an 8-inch tablet "FullView" screen with 8:7.1 aspect ratio and 2,480 x 2,200 pixel resolution.
The phone wins the title of ebbing the thinnest foldable phone by being just 5.4 mm thick when fully opened. The phone also has a grip holding the camera technology.
It sports the Balong 5000 multi-mode 5G chipset, which makes it one of the fastest 5G smartphone. The Huawei Mate X comes with a battery split into two cell banks, supportive of Huawei's 55W SuperCharge technology, too, reaching a battery percent of 85 in half an hour.
As for the core hardware spec, the Huawei Mate X comes with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB storage drive.
The phone will release in summer 2019.
3. Oppo Foldable Phone
Oppo officially has not confirmed regarding a foldable phone but rumors of a prototype similar to Huawei Mate X let us know that works for a foldable phone are on.
4. Motorola Razr 2019
Motorola is bringing in its foldable phone with the iconic Motorala branding. That's right, the phone will be a flip phone, but with a full foldable screen inside.
The patent of the phone model tells us that the phone will flip out and be used somewhat like a tablet. The phone will also sport two cameras and have hinges at the top, middle and bottom. Further details of the phone are yet to be released.
5. LG Bendi
Life's good, and LG has confirmed that a foldable phone is in works. The patent filed by LG seemed to have a three-screen body similar to that of Samsung. LG mentions that they would like to not rush through the design and hence, the phone will hit the market later this year.
6. Xiaomi Mix Flex
The tablet folding into a smartphone prototype was created by Xiaomi. The phone is a symmetrically double folding, practical cell phone. The sides of the phone fold inwards at two points, leaving the middle portion at the cell phone display mode.
