The smartphone has volume rockers and a power button, which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner, on the right side and microSD and SIM card slots are on the left. It has a USB Type-C port and speaker grille at the bottom and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top.
Poco M6 5G Review: Display
The smartphone comes with a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. The waterdrop-notch display has a peak brightness of 600nits and a refresh rate of 90Hz. While scrolling through social media apps and browsing feels smooth, it offers a decent viewing angle. Content consumption experience is decent and a single mono-firing speaker is also loud enough. Widevine L1 certification is an added advantage.
Poco M6 5G Review: Performance and Software
The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC. This is powerful enough to handle all your daily tasks easily. I used multiple apps simultaneously for several minutes and didn't notice any lag. You can even play light games like Subway Surfer and Candy Crush.
The Poco M6 5G runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13 OS out of the box. While it offers several customisations and features, it comes with several bloatware. The smartphone comes with two major Android updates and three years of security updates.
Poco M6 5G Review: Battery and Charging
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. It is powerful enough to last for an entire day on a full charge. The smartphone comes bundled with a 10W adapter. However, the device supports 18W fast charging. The charger can juice up the device from zero to 100 per cent in around 3 hours. That is a lot of time to charge a device and a bit faster charging could have made things much better.
Poco M6 5G Review: Camera
The Poco M6 5G has a dual camera setup with a 50MP AI primary sensor. For selfies, the smartphone has a 5MP snapper. Images clicked in daylight are acceptable. For low-light, night mode can come in handy. Selfies are also decent. Considering this is a budget smartphone, the camera performance is acceptable.
Poco M6 5G Review: Verdict
This is a budget smartphone and offers decent performance with good battery life. It also offers an attractive design. However, slow charging is something that users won't like. Overall, if you don't want to spend more than 10k, this can be an easy pick.
