According to the rules of RBI, banks will have to monitor the locker rooms through CCTV. Banks will have to keep the CCTV footage safe for 180 days. In the case of complaint, the footage will have to be kept till the investigation. Not only this, but banks will also have to notify by SMS or e-mail when the locker is opened. According to the rules, if there is any damage to the goods kept in the locker due to fire, theft, robbery, dacoity, then the banks will have to pay compensation. Compensation will have to be given up to 100 times the annual rent of the locker. On the other hand, if the locker is damaged due to flood, earthquake or any act of God, then no bank will be responsible for it. Watch this exclusive report from India 360.
