Nirmal Bang estimated IIP to be at 0.7% YoY for July 2017, up from -0.1% YoY in the previous month as it sees the sluggishness in industry on account of implementation of GST to continue in 2QFY18.

From the past two months, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has been calculating IIP data in the new base year of 2011-12 from previous 2004-05 year.

Under the new base year (2011-12), IIP for the month of April 2017 stood at 3.1% on year-on-year basis. IIP was at 2.7% in the month of March 2017 as against a drop of 1.2% in February 2017.
