Small and bigger trading range on Nifty lies between 10,600-10,700 and 10,550-10,750. The extreme range stands at 10,475-10,800. In the case of Bank Nifty, the small trading range stands at 26,150-26,350. The bigger and extreme ranges lie between 26,000-26,450 and 25,900-26,600 respectively.
Excluding corporate banks, Nifty profit growth in Q2 came in at 12.8%. Nifty Ebitda margin (excluding financials, OMCs) contracted 40 basis points YoY to 20.7%. 66% of Nifty universe posted in-line or higher-than-estimated profit after tax. As much as 78% of Nifty universe posted in-line or higher-than-estimated Ebitda.
"Markets are expected to be directionless but volatile which is a difficult scenario for traders to make profits. Hence, traders must be cautious as the indecisiveness of market can result in whipsaw losses," said Jimeet Modi, Founder & CEO, SAMCO Securities & StockNote.

The Sensex opened higher and advanced further to scale the day's high of 35,545.85, but settled at 35,457.16 points, a gain of 196.62 points, or 0.56 per cent, due to profit-taking activity. This is the highest closing since October 17, when it had closed at 34,779.58. The gauge had risen 119 points in Thursday's trade.
