Dense fog gripped Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on January 23rd, causing delays and cancellations to several flights. Passengers faced inconvenience, waiting with luggage as visibility remained low. With the minimum temperature dipping to 7°C and a maximum of 18°C expected, the wintry conditions further amplified the travel disruptions.

Taking a big decision, the Delhi government has decided to open the schools from January 18. These schools will be opened for students of 11th and 12th, for which parental approval will be required.
Delhi Schools Reopen Date: The schools will reopen in National Capital Delhi from this month itself. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given his consent for reopening of schools for the students of class 10 and class 12 for the time being. According to a circular released on Wednesday, the government and private schools may call the students of class 10 and 12 from 18 January.

Testing of eight samples sent to a Bhopal-based laboratory has confirmed bird flu in Delhi, officials said on Monday. All eight samples -- four from a park in Mayur Vihar Phase 3, three from Sanjay Lake and one from Dwarka -- have been found positive for avian influenza, Dr Rakesh Singh from the animal husbandry unit of the Development Department said.
