Leading public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) has been authorised to issue and encash electoral bonds through its 29 authorised branches in state capitals from January 2 to January 11.

The government has given its nod to the issuance of the 27th tranche of electoral bonds, which will be sold from July 3-12. This development comes prior to the assembly elections of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
