At around 9:23 a.m., shares of HDFC Bank traded 1.40 per cent or Rs 20.10 higher at Rs 1455.4 apiece. Meanwhile, at around the same time, LIC shares flat at Rs 903.3 apiece.

At the close, Sensex ended with a cut of 1053 points or 1.47 per cent at 70,370.55, while Nifty ended weak by 333 points or 1.54 per cent at 21,238.8.
HDFC Bank shares touched a fresh 52-week low in early trade on Jan 23 extending their post-Q3 earnings slump. The stock fell 1.26% to Rs 1,459.95, further entering oversold territory with an RSI of 24.5. This follows a 10% drop last week after the bank reported its December 2023 results. Market cap dropped to Rs 11.12 lakh crore despite a broader market rally. Analysts' views are mixed, with CLSA maintaining a buy rating while acknowledging investor concerns.

HDFC Bank, country's biggest lender by market value, reported a 20.31 per cent rise in third-quarter net profit on Saturday, lifted by higher interest and fee income.
Major private sector lender HDFC Bank has reported a 20.3% on-year rise in net profit to Rs 5,586 crore for the October-December period.
