Under the new base year (2011-12), IIP for the month of April 2017 stood at 3.1% on year-on-year basis. IIP was at 2.7% in the month of March 2017 as against a drop of 1.2% in February 2017.

Ministry on May 12 released the new series of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) and IIP with new base year of 2011-12, which was considered as a long pending demand of the economists.
