The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) said that it has decided to restore the practice of charging exam fees of Rupees 50 from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students Delhi government schools.“We have issued a circular to the Delhi Government today that SC/ST students in Delhi will have to pay Rs 50 only for Class X and Class XII Board examinations,” said Anurag Tripathi Secretary of CBSE Board. The CBSE had recently hiked the fee for all candidates for Class X and XII board examinations. The fees for SC and ST students in Delhi, who were paying only Rupees 50 while the Delhi government was giving the rest of the amount as a subsidy, was raised to Rupees 1,200.
