Eighteen out of the top 30 IPOs by size have failed to generate excess returns when compared to the returns from the CNX500 index, according to a report. Capitalmind Financial Services, a wealth management firm, said in a report that 8 of the 30 have delivered negative returns.

Online food delivery platform Zomato made a strong stock market debut today as its shares got listed at Rs 115 apiece on BSE, while on NSE, Zomato shares surged nearly 52.63 per cent or Rs 40 to Rs 116 apiece. The food delivery aggregator could surprise the investors on the positive side going forward. Zomato became the first Indian unicorn to go public and will be followed by other startups including PayTm, Policy Bazaar, among others.

Online food delivery company Zomato's IPO has opened from Wednesday. The company has kept the price band for the IPO at Rs 72-76. Zomato's Rs 9,375 crore IPO will close on July 16.
Within the hours of launch on the first day, the retail investors have oversubscribed the initial public offer of Zomato by over 1.5 times or 54 per cent. The quota kept reserved for retail investors was 10 per cent.
