Google Doodle Bubble Tea: Tech giant Google is celebrating the popularity of bubble tea on Sunday, January 29, with Doodle across the globe.

Bubble tea, also known as boba tea and pearl milk tea, is a cold tea beverage mix in some bubbly balls made with fruit jelly or tapioca.

The drink originally belongs to Taiwan and gained popularity globally during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bubble Tea History
Bubble tea has its roots in traditional Taiwanese tea culture, which dates back to the 17th century. However, the bubble tea we know today wasn't invented until the 1980s. The waves of Taiwanese immigrants brought the drink overseas over the past few decades.

Experiment with Bubble Tea
Experimentation and innovation on the original bubble tea have continued. Shops around the world are still experimenting with new flavors, additions, and mixtures. Traditional tearooms across Asia have also joined in on the boba craze, and the trend has reached countries like Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and more.

Recently, India celebrated its 74th Republic day on January 26. Google Doodle changed the logo with an artwork that used intricately hand-cut paper and featured iconic landmarks such as Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, North Block and South Block, a contingent and motorcycle-borne 'Daredevils'.

The doodle depicted the letters 'g', 'o', 'g', 'l' and 'e' in lowercase black fonts while a circle over the dome of the President's House symbolically represents the other 'o' in 'Google'. A peacock and floral patterns added a layer of charm to the art in monochrome.
