Hanuman Jayanti 2023: This year, Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated on Thursday, April 6. The day marks the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman and is celebrated on the full moon day during the Chaitra month.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Hanuman is the son of Vayu Deva i.e. the wind god and mata Anjana. He was born on Chaitra Purnima just after sunrise on Tuesday (Mangalwar). He was born on Chitra Nakshatra and Mesha Lagna. And that is why, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon date of the Chaitra month.

Purnima tithi will start on April 5 around 09:19 am and end on April 6 around 10:04 am, according to the Drik Panchang (calendar).
