"P Nissanka(33 off 35) partnered with K Mendis(52 off 31) for 80 runs. C Asalanka came at number four and put up 37 off just 19 deliveries after which the Lankan Skipper D Shanka lit the fireworks scoring 56* runs off just 22 balls," said BCCI.
"With a huge target of 207 runs to chase, the Sri Lankan bowlers bowled confidently and dismissed the top three batters of the Indian side for single digits. S Yadav started steadily and accelerated further and scored his 13th T20I fifty and A Patel's maiden T20I fifty came just off 20 deliveries. Their 80 run-stand almost took the team closer but the Sri Lankan bowlers defended the target and won the match by 16 runs!" it added.
