The tournament was officially announced by Saudi officials on November 21, but it was unclear if Inter Miami would take part at that time.

However, with recent developments, football fans will get to witness two of the greatest footballers of all time lock horns on February 1, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. The tournament is a three-team round-robin event where Messi's Inter Miami will be facing Al Hilal on January 29, 2024, and later facing Ronaldo's Al Nassr.
