Ireland vs England, ICC T20 World Cup 2022, IRE v ENG, Match Report, Scorecard: Rain gods favoured Ireland on Wednesday as they pulled off a stunning upset over one of the T20 World Cup 2022 favourites England in the Super 12 match in Melbourne. Ireland stunned England by five runs via Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain interrupted match. 

IRE v ENG, Ireland vs England Match Report: 

After a delayed start due to wet outfield after rain showers, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to field first. Put in to bat, Ireland skipper Andy Balbirnie top-scored for his team with a 47-ball 62 while Lorcan Tucker made 34. Ireland set England a target of 158 runs.

Liam Livingstone (3/17) and Mark Wood (3/34) shared six wickets between them for England.

Chasing 158, England were down to 105 for 5 wickets in 14.3 overs when it began pouring at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. 

According to the Duckworth-Lewis method, England were found to be five runs short when the umpires decided to call off the IRE v ENG game.

For England David Malan made 35, while Moeen Ali was unbeaten on 24.
For Ireland, Josh Little (2/16) picked up two wickets.

Ireland vs England Player of the Match: Ireland skipper Andy Balbirnie was judged the 'Player of the Match' by the panelists for his innings of 62 runs.

Ireland: 157 all out in 19.2 overs (Andy Balbirnie 62; Liam Livingstone 3/17, Mark Wood 3/34).
England: 105 for 5 in 14.3 overs (David Malan 35, Moeen Ali 24 not out; Josh Little 2/16).
