The Nifty50 snapped 2 weeks of a winning streak and closed lower by about 2 percent in a holiday-shortened week weighed down by weak global cues. The index closed below its crucial support at 17800 levels.
The Indian markets fell by about 2 per cent for the week ended November 18. The S&P BSE Sensex closed below 60,000, while the Nifty50 breached 17800 levels, on Thursday.
The Indian markets started the fresh day on a flat note on Monday after the last week saw trading for only four days due to the holiday on Guru Nanak Jayanti on Friday. Nifty, Sensex opened flat at 17,796.25 and 59,710.48, respectively.
Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 closed Thursday in the holiday-truncated last week. Headline indices Sensex ended 372 points lower, while Nifty50 gave up 17,800 to close at 17,745.35 and 59,636.01 respectively.
Indian market closed lower for the third consecutive day in a row on Thursday pushing benchmark indices below crucial levels. The S&P BSE Sensex closed below 60,000 while the Nifty50 broke below 17800 levels.

The Indian markets closed in the red weighed down by auto and metal stocks, which continued to pull down the benchmark indices amid profit booking and weaker global cues on Thursday.
The equity benchmarks were extended the fall and were trading with a fall of more than 0.80 per cent in the noon deals on Thursday, November 18, 2021. At 12:46 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 498.93 points or 0.83 per cent lower at 59,509.40.
