The April 2019 sales figures of Honda Cars India are out. Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has registered a monthly domestic sales of 11,272 units in April 2019. HCIL has performed better in comparison with 9,143 units in April 2018. HCIL in April 2019 registered a growth of 23%. HCIL also exported a total of 220 units in April 2019. Earlier, Honda Cars India had registered annual domestic sales of 183,787 units during FY18–19, recording 8% growth over the last financial year. The company had sold 170,026 units during FY17-18. Moreover, HCIL exported a total volume of 4,794 units during FY 18-19 with export of 38 units during the month of March 2019.

Commenting on the April 2019 sales figures growth registered by HCIL, Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “HCIL’s April sales growth is primarily due to lower base effect, as there was no Amaze in the corresponding month last year during model runout. The ongoing elections and overall subdued market sentiment continues to affect the sales momentum. Going forward, the industry is heading towards a tougher year impacting sales due to volatility in fuel prices, increase in car prices owing to new regulations and stricter inventory control for smooth switchover to BS6 regime by year end.”

As of now, Honda India's product range includes Honda Brio, Honda Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda WR-V, Honda BR-V, Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V – which are manufactured in India. The Accord Hybrid is being sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) imported from Thailand. Honda’s models are strongly associated with advanced design and technology, apart from their established qualities of durability, reliability and fuel-efficiency. The company has a strong sales and distribution network with 381 facilities in 264 cities across spread across the country.
