Delhi-Mumbai expressway: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway today, February 12. The 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section will reduce the travel time between the national capital and Jaipur to around three and a half hours from five hours earlier.
The development cost of the first completed section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is more than Rs 12,150 crore. This expressway will provide a major boost to the economic development of the entire region, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
The PM will reach Bandikui by helicopter at 2.45 pm and shall inaugurate the expressway at around 3 pm. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will also be present during the event.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is likely to be completed by March 2023 and is being built as part of the first phase of the Bharatmala Pariyojana. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway was kick-started in 2018, with the foundation stone being laid on March 9, 2019.
Delhi Mumbai Expressway Project Details, Budget
The development cost of the 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section is more than Rs 12,150 crore, according to PMO. The expressway is the first in Asia and only the second in the world to feature animal overpasses to facilitate the unrestricted movement of wildlife.
During the programme, Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of 247 kilometres of National Highway projects to be developed at a cost of more than Rs 5940 crore. This includes 67-km long four-lane spur road from Bandikui to Jaipur to be developed at a cost of more than Rs 2000 crore, a six-lane spur road from Kotputli to Baraodaneo, to be developed at a cost of about Rs 3775 crore and two-lane paved shoulder of Lalsot - Karoli section, being developed at a cost of about Rs 150 crore.
