Oppo Reno10 Pro 5G review: Oppo Reno Series is quite popular for bringing innovative imaging technology. The company has now launched Oppo Reno10 Series in India. The new lineup has three smartphones - Oppo Reno10 Pro Plus, Oppo Reno10 Pro and Oppo Reno10. Oppo Reno10 Pro is the middle child in the family and here we are to review the same. The smartphone comes with a triple camera set-up and it is one of the strongest aspects of the device. But there are several other things that a buyer considers before purchasing a smartphone. Does Oppo Reno10 Pro manage to meet all other needs? Find out in our review.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Price and variants

Oppo Reno10 Pro is the middle child of the Reno 10 Series and is priced at Rs 39,999. the smartphone is available in only one RAM and storage variant i.e. 12GB + 256GB and two colour variants - Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple. Here we are using the latter one as a review unit. Also, Oppo Reno10 Pro does not support external SD cards.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Design

Oppo Reno10 Pro looks premium in many ways - colour, glass back panel, 3D curved design and edges with a metallic finish. The device is slim, just 7.89mm, and is a delight to hold. It is also lightweight and weighs around 185 grams. The two-tone camera module may also grab eyeballs. While the glass back panel is not too slippery, it does attract smudges. Though the camera bump is big, it is protruding not to the extent that it will annoy you.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Display

Oppo Reno10 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch OLED curved screen and has an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, which makes surfing and reading content on the phone quite fun. The HDR10+ display is protected with AGC Dragontrail Star 2 cover glass and has thin bezels, offering a 93 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The display offers a peak brightness of 950 nits, which helps you comfortably use the device outdoors.

While Oppo has tried to do everything right, accidental touches still remain a problem for curved screen devices. The in-display fingerprint sensor is quite responsive and quickly unlocks the device.

Watching content on YouTube was a good experience as the display produces a good dynamic range. Oppo provides a bottom-firing speaker, which is decently loud and retains a good amount of detail.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Performance and software

Oppo Reno10 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chip. The octa-core SoC is built on 6nm process technology and is known to provide reliable performance. It also has RAM Expansion technology, capable of increasing the RAM of the device by another 8GB. The device has LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

The smartphone can handle daily tasks quite easily, and you can run multiple apps simultaneously. Even playing games is not an issue, but it does heat up a little if you play heavy games like Doomsday for a long time.

Oppo Reno10 Pro boots on Color OS 13.1 skin based on Android 13 out of the box. Reno10 Pro 5G will support two years of OS and three years of security updates.

While the phone's skin is user-friendly, it does come with pre-installed bloatware, and you will receive several notifications from these apps. However, the good thing is that you can uninstall them.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Camera

Oppo Reno 10 Pro has a triple camera setup at the back. It comprises a 50MP main camera, a 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera. For selfies, it has a 32MP punch-hole camera at the front.

The main camera produces images with good dynamic range and vivid colours. The telephoto sensor, too, will impress you with ultra-crisp shots. The colour accuracy of the ultra-wide sensor is more or less perfect, and you will not lose much detail.

Portrait mode in the rear and front cameras has good edge detection and produces a pleasing bokeh effect. The 32MP selfie camera clicks good images with accurate colours and skin tones.

Indoor photography could have been better, particularly in terms of noise and dynamic range. Night mode, however, helps in such conditions.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Battery and charger

Reno10 Pro 5G features a 4,600 mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. The smartphone can be juiced up from zero to 100 per cent in around 35 minutes. However, a 5,000mAh battery is the least powerful among the same category of phones that Oppo's competitors are offering. But Oppo promises 1,600 charge and discharge cycles with the help of its Battery Health Engine, which gives the device an edge over others.

Oppo Reno10 Pro review: Verdict

Oppo Reno10 Pro is apparently the best value-for-money device in the latest lineup. While some smartphones are offering better chipsets in this price range, Oppo clearly has an edge when it comes to camera and design. Also, it is capable of handling all your day-to-day tasks quite easily. Considering all this, it is not a bad deal at all.
