IT czar Azim Premji will retire as executive chairman of Wipro next month, after leading the company for more than five decades. Premji will retire with effect from July 30, but will continue to serve on the board as non-executive director and founder chairman, the company said in a statement.
Wipro is buying the US-based digital engineering and manufacturing solutions firm International TechneGroup Incorported (ITI) for $45 million (Rs 312 crore) in an all cash deal.

The prototype aims to enable digital currency for interbank settlements for a consortium consisting of the Bank of Thailand and eight commercial banks in Thailand, Wipro said in a regulatory filing.
The late selling pulled Nifty50 below its crucial support of 11,500, dragged by Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, ITC, IOC and Tata Motors which fell 2-4 percent. The BSE Sensex closed at 38,276.63, down 323.71 points and Nifty50 fell 100.35 points to 11,497.90. However, Infosys, HUL, L&T, Wipro, ONGC and Titan Company bucked the trend, rising 1-2 percent.

Wipro presented its last quarter and fiscal year result for FY19 on Tuesday. The firm bagged consolidated net profit of Rs 2,484 crore in Q4F1Y9, higher by 37.74% compared to profit of Rs 1,808 crore a year ago same period.
IT major Wipro on Tuesday said its board had approved buyback of 323.1 million equity shares worth Rs 10,500 crore at Rs 325 per share of Rs 2 face value.
