Nearly 200 stocks hit 52-week high on BSE
Nearly 200 stocks on Thursday hit their 52-week high on the BSE, mirroring the strong show by benchmark Sensex which zoomed over 245 points.
Among major gainers were IL&FS Transportation Networks, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Jubilant Life Sciences, MMTC and MOIL, taking the total number of companies to have touched their one year peak to 192.
The Sensex closed at a near two-month high of 26,878.24, up 245.11 points, or 0.92% This is its highest closing since November 10 at 27,517.68.

"Positive global markets following FOMC minutes' release ensured the Indian markets added to recent gains," said Anand James, Chief Market Strategist, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services.
Of the 30-share Sensex components, 26 scrips ended higher and four moved down. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone and Tata Steel were the top gainers, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) emerged as the worst hit.
Broader markets remained positive too, with BSE mid-cap rising 1.32% and small-cap 0.98 %
At the BSE, 1,962 stocks advanced, while 887 declined and 130 remained unchanged.
